    I recently found that my iron sword was destroyed when not equipped.

    I suspect this is because its sharp property was being used in construction.

    Please can we at least have a message in red when this happens:

    ‘you reluctantly use your iron sword to cut bark’ or some such?

    alternatively ask for confirmation before using non base / non specialist tools for crafting?

    A change coming up soon will have it so you can target/sort specifically which items you want to use in a craft so this will not happen. Otherwise, currently, the only way to make your tools safe is to drop them, equip them, or attach them to a quickslot.
