Shield breaking during work.

Hello, i just want to ask if shields are supposed to break during work because as they don’t give any attack(At least wooden one, i still haven’t made wrought iron shield even though i have reciple)they shoudldn’t be used.

Also they seem to be kind of useless, because choosing two weapons is much better.
I hope there will be some kind of shield-block in future updates damaging shield durability, it is very hard to defeat enemies like imps or zombies while with two weapons you can take a few of these in a row.
