Today when playing Wayward for the first time in ~1 week, I loaded the game to find all the item sprites displaying as bizzare, vertical streaks of color and grey. The colors don’t correspond to the typical item icons (a poor lockpick, for instance, has a bright green and a bold purple stripe), and the stripes are a few degrees askew from straight vertical.
The game appears to be playable, but not being able to visually distinguish items without mousing over them may prove frustrating enough to thwart me.
Update: Abandoning my Chrome save file and starting a new game in Opera brought me back the item icons, however the game was incredibly laggy, to the point of being unplayable. As it is in Chrome right now, there is considerable audio lag, but the visuals are as responsive as I remember them being.
I’m playing over my parents’ satellite internet connection, with much slower speeds than usual, which could very easily account for the lag in this otherwise easygoing game, but the item icons are a mystery to me.
Hmm, I have no idea about either of those issues. I’m not even sure what the issues would be other than having an out of date browser? The speed can’t be helped in Opera though… it’s very slow at general with anything HTML5.
