Yeah im not sure were communicating too well. Im just saying charcoal should be a premium fuel like coal. In the real world coal has impurities, mainly sulfur, that make iron weak and brittle, this is why Europe suffered massive deforestation for making charcoal, it is much purer and would make sense to use as a higher level craft item.
